Upper New York honored for outstanding global mission support

Members of the Upper New York Global Ministries team were recognized at the 2026 Upper New York Annual Conference by Michelle Schwartzman, Mission Engagement Liaison for Global Ministries, for Upper New York Conference's outstanding support of Global Ministries.

Upper New York received the award as the conference that contributed the highest amount to Global Ministries within the Northeast Jurisdiction.  

In 2025, Upper New York Conference gave a total of $747,526.75 in support of mission and ministry around the world. This included $23,706.38 designated for missionaries, $52,972.39 for Advance Projects, and $670,847.98 to UMCOR and Global Ministries.  

The five most-supported Advance Specials in Upper New York Conference in 2025 were:  

• Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees – Middle East Council of Churches  

• Moscow Seminary – Scholarship and Academic Support  

• Chicuque Rural Hospital  

• Church World Service – Blankets and Tools  

• Red Bird Mission
