Upper New York welcomes Jennelle Torrey. Jennelle is the new Superintendency Administrative Assistant for the Mountain View and Genesee Valley Districts. She is replacing Patti Gridley, who is retiring on July 8, 2026, following nearly 16 years of service. Â
Jennelle is no stranger to The United Methodist Church and Upper New York. She is married to the Rev. Christopher Wylie.Â
Her diverse professional background includes work in IT, education, training, coaching, ministry, nonprofit leadership, manufacturing, retail, and consulting. Throughout her career, Jannelle has served in roles such as Virtual Assistant, Project Assistant, IT Services and Technical Support Specialist, Assistant to the Director, and Director. Her responsibilities have included managing office operations, coordinating business activities, providing customer and technical support, supervising staff schedules, arranging travel, planning events, and helping launch and oversee a nonprofit organization. This breadth of experience has equipped Jannelle with strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Â
"I am excited to be joining the Upper New York Conference as the new Superintendency Administrative Assistant for the Mountain View and Genesee Valley Districts. I look forward to working with all of you as we strive to show God's heart and hands to all those we meet and serve."Â
As a new Superintendency Administrative Assistant, Jennelle will work closely with Superintendent, the Rev. Richelle Goff.Â
"Patti Gridley's retirement marks the end of an important chapter in the life of our districts. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for people have been a tremendous gift to me, to our clergy, and to our congregations. I am profoundly grateful for all she has done and wish her every blessing in retirement. At the same time, I am delighted to welcome Jennelle Torrey to the role of Superintendency Administrative Assistant. Jennelle's experience, commitment to service, and connection to The United Methodist Church make her an excellent addition to our district team. I look forward to the ways her gifts will help strengthen and support our shared ministry in the years ahead."Â
