VISION & STRATEGY
The 2025 Upper New York Annual Conference approved a resolution launching a Spirit-led Strategic Visioning and Planning Process.
OVERVIEW
The Strategic Visioning and Planning Process will:

Secure input from clergy, laity, elected conference leaders, staff, ministry partners, community members, and other key stakeholders.

Assess the strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and desired results for the Upper New York Conference.

Explore and identify opportunities for collaboration with our missional partner, the Susquehanna Conference, that enable amplified impact and good stewardship.

Recommend the 2026 Annual Conference session with a Ministry Action Plan.
THE MINISTRY ACTION PLAN WILL INCLUDE:

Core values
-
Cultural shifts needed
-
Structural adaptations needed
-
Missional strategic direction with appropriate goals, objectives, and actionable strategies for the next three to five years.

Ensure alignment with the mission, vision, doctrine, and polity of The United Methodist Church.
VISIONING TASK FORCE TEAM
Serving on behalf of the Conference Leadership Team, this group is listening deeply to the voices across our Conference and to the movement of the Holy Spirit. Their charge is to develop recommendations for our path forward, which will be considered by Conference leadership and affirmed at the 2026 Annual Conference session in May.
