
2026 WESLEY HERITAGE TOUR
This nine-day pilgrimage of the Upper New York Annual Conference, taking place September 30–October 8, 2026, invites United Methodists to journey to Epworth, Oxford, Bristol, London, and other key sites in England that shaped John and Charles Wesley and the Methodist movement. Along the way, participants will deepen their spiritual formation, connect with the roots of the Wesleyan tradition, and share in community with fellow clergy and laity from across the Upper New York Conference.

See where Samuel and Susanna Wesley raised their children in the Old Rectory. Familiarize yourself with the upbringing and early life of John and Charles Wesley. Visit Memorial Church and St. Andrews Church.
Cotswolds and Stratford
October 3
Visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon and see his burial place at Holy Trinity Church.
Oxford
October 4
Visit Christ Church College at Oxford University and learn about the educational background of John, Charles, and Samuel Jr. Visit Lincoln College and St. Mary's Church.
Bristol and Bath

Visit the oldest Methodist building in Bristol, Charles Wesley's home, and the unique Roman baths.
Wesley's London

Hear a lecture at City Road Chapel, the site of Wesley's home and grave. Walk on Aldersgate Street where Wesley had his "Warming of the Hearts" experience. See Westminster Abbey and visit St. Paul's Cathedral where John Wesley often worshiped.
