Baldwinsville First UMC issues ‘Stop Hunger Now’ challenge

In response to the need for funds to support the Stop Hunger Now project at the 2015 Annual Conference session, the Administrative Council at the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church has extended the following challenge:

The Upper New York Annual Conference has established the goal of packaging 150,000 meals during the 2015 Annual Conference session for the Stop Hunger Now program and has committed itself to raise $43,500 to support this project. The Administrative Council at the Baldwinsville First UMC extends a challenge invitation to each congregation within the Conference to make a commitment to this worthy financial goal and to encourage members of their congregation to help in packaging the meals for distribution. To that end, we are committing $1,000 to the Stop Hunger Now project. Would you join us?

The Baldwinsville First UMC is passionate about stopping hunger. Starting in 1978, the mission of the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church has included a ministry committed to alleviating hunger. In 2014, 52,233 meals were provided to 5,806 individuals in 1,950 households through the Baldwinsville Community Food Pantry. A 73 percent increase since 2011 indicates the growing need.
