The Upper New York Conference of The United Methodist Church

    about

    Digital Discipleship

How can churches engage in spiritual growth in a digital age? The coronavirus was the catalyst that caused churches to go all virtual. Churches that didn't have a website now are streaming worship services online, collecting donations online, and reaching audiences near and far. In turn, not only are homebound church members able to engage in their church's worship services, but also, there are visitors from counties, states, and even countries away from churches' physical locations, engaging in Upper New York Conference worship opportunities. To build on this momentum, the Upper New York Conference is launching the Digital Discipleship Ministry to provide churches, large and small, with the proper resources to keep people connected.

With more than 140,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 825 local churches and 90 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our vision is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
