The Upper New York Conference of The United Methodist Church

    2022 General Conference

    United Methodist General Conference 2022

General Conference has been postponed until August 29 – September 6, 2022 due to the coronavirus. The Commission on the General Conference decided on February 20, 2021 to move the meeting dates to 2022 as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the safety of mass gatherings and travel. It will still be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2022. Click here to read more about the decision-making process.

General Conference was originally scheduled for May 5-15, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Minneapolis Convention Center. In May 2021, it was moved to August 29 – Sept. 7, 2021 in Minneapolis. The Commission determined that it was not feasible to safely hold an in-person meeting involving all delegates even in 2021.

With more than 134,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 865 local churches and 85 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
