Here are some thoughts on this year’s theme, “God is,” from Meredith Forbes, a CCYM member from Asbury UMC in Watertown, in the Northern Flow District:
“God is the acts of kindness that counteract the evil wrongs of the world. This world is full of wrongful actions and hurtful words. Wrongs are taken against people every day in every way, shape and form. However, God shows through these wrongful actions with a larger positive consequence. Bad things happen to all people but God fixes all these things for us. He either uses these wrongs to teach us a lesson or to make us stronger individuals that affect others. God also does a great thing after a bad event by giving us something better. God never plans to hurt us only to make us stronger. God gives us forgiveness to forgive the people or things that hurt us, because at the time they may hurt, but they are only to make us stronger. God is in all of these positive actions, positive and encouraging words from others, or a lesson that he has planned for us to learn to improve our lives.”
