    Upper New York Area Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb has announced that the Rev. Bill Gottschalk-Fielding will assume the position of Executive Assistant to the Bishop, effective July 1. Rev.     Bridging the class divide between church and low-income neighbors

    Bridging is a simple metaphor for overcoming barriers to good relationships. Church leaders often express the desire for more “young families” in church. How about inviting low-income neighbors to worship? Likewise, many volunteers say they want not only to help others but also to make real connections with their low-income neighbors.     Church inspired by AC session mission project

    Inspired by the hands-on mission project at the 2014 Upper New York Annual Conference session, the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid will be doing its first meal-packing mission for Stop Hunger Now on Jan. 25, 2015. Stop Hunger Now (SHN) began in 2005, and distributes meals around the world. Volunteers will work assembly-line style to measure out the dehydrated ingredients and package the meals. The meals contain rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring and 21 …more

    Thirteen Upper New York ministries awarded 2014 RON MOT grants

    The Reaching Our Neighbors Mission Oversight Team (RON MOT) has awarded $59,776 in grants to 13 Upper New York Conference ministries in its latest round of grant funding. RON MOT members met on Sept. 4, 2014 at the Fayetteville First UMC along with four members of the Spiritual Leadership MOT and the Rev. Bill Gottschalk-Fielding, Director of Connectional Ministries.
