Greg Forrester to Coordinate Disaster Response

October 5, 2021 / By Rev. Dr. Aaron Bouwens / .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

The search for a new Director of Missional Engagement is underway, please pray for God’s provision and discernment. During the season between the retirement of Mike Block and the new Director getting started it is important to continue the ministry of the UNY Mission HUB, support for volunteers responding to community needs, and active disasters across the connection. Upper New York has contracted with Greg Forrester to coordinate disaster response during the transition period. Greg is not a stranger to most in UNY, as he has served in many capacities through years. In the past Mr. Forrester has served as UMVIM coordinator for the Northeast Jurisdiction of the UMC, Director of US Disaster Response for UMCOR, and recently President and CEO of National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster(NVOAD). Greg brings expert level understanding and practice in responding to disasters that will ensure the congregations and people of Upper New York will be able to respond to needs as they arise. To contact Greg you can email disasterresponse@unyumc.org.
