The Upper New York Conference of The United Methodist Church

    news

    Deborah Spratt

    Deborah Spratt
    Avon UMC, Genesee Valley District

Why do you feel called to serve as a delegate to the 2020 General/Jurisdictional Conferences?

I am concerned about the direction of the UMC relative to the recent decision to remain with the Traditional Plan. I believe in a fully inclusive church. I have experience leading a major professional nursing organization and many years of managing and leading in healthcare facilities. I am a consensus builder and problem solver.

Please explain the leadership roles (past and present) that you’ve served at the church, district, and Conference levels in addition to any involvement you’ve had in your community.

Currently on SSPRC, and past Chair of Church Council all in Avon, NY

With more than 168,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 865 local churches and 91 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
