May 26, 2020 / By Shannon Hodson
Each year, The United Methodist Association of Communicators (UMAC) recognizes excellence in communication through an awards program, the United Methodist Association of Communicators Awards Contest. This year the Awards Contest was livestreamed due to COVID-19.
The contest recognizes excellence in print publications, digital publications, writing, internet communications, video production, audio, photography, visual design, publicity/advertising and media presentations. High-quality work from United Methodist communicators across the nation is submitted to the contest and judged by a panel of first-rate judges. Those honored at the Awards Gala are considered by UMAC to be “the best of the best.” This year the Upper New York (UNY) Communications Team won four awards.
The awards that UNY Communications Team won include:
- Best feature article: 2nd Place Three Men on a Mission
- 2019 Annual Conference Coverage- 1st Place File 1, File 2, File 3, File 4, File 5
- Streaming: 3rd Place Post-Special Session Gathering
- Campaign/Strategic Planning: 2nd Place Winter Thaw Campaign: File 1, File 2, File 3, File 4
Steve Hustedt, UNY Director of Communications said, ““It is always nice to be recognized for the hard work the Communications Team does to share our story. Especially, in times such as these, it is crucial that we do this well and we do it in a way that can reach as many people as possible in as many ways as possible.”
