    High Five Relay Challenge

United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) warehouses across the country are starting to clear out due to recent natural disasters near and far. From flooding in parts of Texas to hurricanes hitting the Bahamas and areas along the East Coast, there is a great need for cleaning and hygiene kits. As Methodists, it is our mission to help our neighbors who are suffering.

In an effort to provide assistance, Upper New York Mission Central HUB began a high five campaign. Mission Central HUB challenges you to start your own high five relay and raise funds and supplies for items needed to assemble UMCOR-approved cleaning and hygiene kits.

So how does the challenge work? Gather your church, committee, or group members together and have a high five relay. Each person contributes $5, or as much as they can, and the total amount is sent to the Upper New York Mission Central HUB. Click the following links to get specific information about sending in your donation:

Follow the lead of the Conference Office staff and volunteers. UNY Mission Central HUB challenges your church to be next. Post your videos to Facebook and tag @Upper New York Conference or email the video of your relay to and the Communications Ministry will share it for you.

This high five is for you for helping those who need it most!

With more than 168,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 865 local churches and 91 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
