Upper New York Annual Conference Scholarships

The Upper New York Annual Conference College Scholarships Committee offers the following two scholarship categories for undergraduate students:

    1. Conference Merit Award: The annual Student Day special offering supports General Conference Loans and Scholarships. Of the total funds collected from churches in our conference, the General Conference sets aside 10% for this scholarship. Awards are to United Methodist students who are enrolled in an institution of higher education recognized as United Methodist by the University Senate (see list at: http://www.gbhem.org/education/university-senate/list-approved-schools). Merit is evaluated in terms of academic scholarship, church involvement, financial need, vocational preparation for ministry, or other service. Your church must have participated in the Student Day offering.  Applicants must apply online using this link: http://www.gbhem.org/loans-scholarships/scholarship-applications).

    2. Lottie Brown Grant: Preference is given to those entering some form of Christian service.  A statement of your faith journey and philosophy of life is given high consideration.

With more than 168,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 867 local churches and 65 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
