Editor's note: The following information was shared with the Upper New York Conference on Jan. 25, 2022.

Bishop Mark J. Webb announces that he has appointed the Rev. Ted Anderson as an interim District Superintendent assigned to the Genesee Valley District, effective immediately. The current District Superintendent, the Rev. Vonda Fossitt has begun a six (6) month medical leave to care for her physical health and to have a season of rest and healing.

“I know that you will join me in praying for Vonda, that this time of medical leave will strengthen her physically and provide the space for God’s healing touch to be fully experienced within her body and life,” Bishop Webb said. “Vonda is a gift to us and we pray that this time will be a gift to her.”

Rev. Anderson currently serves as a District Associate in the Genesee Valley District and previously served eight years as a District Superintendent assigned to the Genesee Valley District. Bishop Webb shares, “I am deeply grateful for Ted’s willingness to offer his gifts, wisdom, knowledge of and relationships within the Genesee Valley District. I know Ted will bring steady leadership in Vonda’s absence and will add greatly to the work of the Cabinet in these important days.”

Please keep Rev. Fossitt, Rev. Anderson, the pastors and congregations of the Genesee Valley District in your prayers during this season.
