    Bishop Webb announces AC2020 speakers

    Upper New York (UNY) Area Resident Bishop, Mark J. Webb, has selected the speakers for the 2020 UNY Annual Conference, to be held May 28-30 at the Oncenter in Syracuse.

    The Study Session Leader will be the Rev. Dr. Kim Reisman; she is the Executive Director of World Methodist Evangelism (WME). The Rev. Bill Gottschalk-Fielding, Upper New York Director of Connectional Ministries and Assistant to the Bishop, will be leading the Memorial Service. Bishop Jonathan Holston, the Area Resident Bishop of the South Carolina Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, will be the Ordination Speaker.

    The Rev. Dr. Kim Reisman is an author, pastor, teacher, and theologian, focusing her work in the areas evangelism, spiritual formation, leadership development, and the intersection between faith and culture. Ordained in the United Methodist Church, she was appointed Executive Director of WME in 2014. She is a frequent speaker and has written numerous books,

    The Rev. Bill Gottschalk-Fielding Bill is an ordained United Methodist elder currently serving as the Director of Connectional Ministries and the Executive Assistant to the Bishop of the UNY Conference.  Prior to these roles, he served 20 years as a pastor in the local church, serving Lansing UMC, Geneva UMC, and Trumansburg UMC.

    Bishop Jonathan Holston has been Bishop of the South Carolina Annual Conference since 2012. Coming to South Carolina from the North Georgia Conference, Bishop Holston served as senior pastor of St. James United Methodist Church in Atlanta for seven years before his episcopal election. Prior to that, he served as superintendent of the Atlanta-Decatur-Oxford District from 1997 to 2005.

    Bishop Holston possesses extraordinary knowledge gained by his presence throughout the years on numerous boards and committees of The United Methodist Church at the Conference and General Church level.
