    The Upper New York (UNY) United Women in Faith (UWF) is accepting project grant applications from any non-profit community or church-based organization that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and addresses the needs of women, children and youth within the boundaries of the UNY Conference. Applications must be filled out completely to be considered and will be evaluated by the committee. The grant period will be July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025.

    This is an annual grant cycle and projects/programs must be located within the boundaries of the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, unless otherwise approved by the committee. The projects/programs directly support women, children, and youth by (but not limited to) one or more of the following categories:

    1. Physical, emotional, mental or spiritual wholeness of women, children and youth;
    2. Elimination of institutional racism directed toward women, children and youth, including safeguarding of the nationality, culture, or language;
    3. Advocacy on behalf of rights and needs of women, children, and youth;
    4. Provisions of opportunities of development of leadership skills;
    5. Empowerment of women to participate fully in decision-making at all levels of their lives.

    Grants may not be used for salaries, honorariums, rent, or building improvements and completed applications with signature must be returned on or before the deadline either electronically in PDF/Word format or postmarked by the due date. Photos of applications will not be accepted.

    An evaluation is required of all grant recipients within 30 days after completion or expenditure of monies received for the program or project. The evaluation needs to be a summary of the outcome and how the grant monies supported the criteria in section B above. There is no form as this can be a letter or email.

    E-mail all completed forms on or before May 23, 2024 to unyumw.conference.projects@gmail.com or mail applications to 22 Kneeland Ave Apt 1, Binghamton, NY 13905.

    Questions or concerns should be sent to Tammy Nist at unyumw.conference.projects@gmail.com or by calling her at (607) 235-1102. Grant applications will be reviewed and responses mailed by July 15, 2024. Checks will be made payable and sent to the organization unless otherwise instructed.
