    Local Pastor Licensing School

    The 2026 Upper New York Local Pastor Licensing School (LPLS) will be May 19-24, 2026 at Sky Lake Camp & Retreat Center. The Local Pastors Licensing School experience provides an opportunity to learn with other students about the basics of ministry. Approval of the District Superintendent is required for the student to attend this important milestone in becoming a Licensed Local Pastor.A registration link will be coming soon.     Get ready for an inspiring and joy-filled day at Upper New York’s Glow & Grow Confirmation Rally! Confirmands and leaders from across Upper New York are invited to come together for worship, music, and meaningful connection on May 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Conference Center in Liverpool.

    This year’s theme, “Claiming a Faith of Our Own,” invites youth to explore how God’s light shines in and through each of us as we continue to grow in faith.

    This is a free event!

    Saving Grace Financial Training

    February 4, 2026

    Saving Grace: A Guide to Financial Well-Being is a six-session small group curriculum held via Zoom that addresses saving, earning, giving, spending, and debt. The course is led by the Rev. Susan Ranous, an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church, a Certified Public Accountant, who specializes in clergy tax, church finance and stewardship. There is no cost to clergy to enroll. The next Saving Grace training is planned for February 4, February 11, February 18, February 25, March 4, and March 11, 2026 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Click here to register.

    ERT 200 - Wildfire Virtual Course

    December 6, 2025 / 12:00pm – 2:00pm Location: ZOOM

    UMCOR is excited to partner with the CDRCs of the NEJ to offer the ERT 200 – Wildfire Virtual Course on December 6, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. This two-hour course, led by trainers Dana and Kathy Bryson (PNW), is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of early response team members as they provide cleanup and other relief activities in the aftermath of wildfires. It serves as further education for ERT basic team members and may also be helpful as just-in-time training for volunteers. The class will be held virtually via Zoom, and the registration deadline is November 29.

    Looking for a fresh, family-friendly way to build community and share faith? Messy Church is an engaging, intergenerational expression of church that combines creativity, hospitality, and celebration—perfect for those who may not connect with traditional Sunday worship. 

    Join us for Get Started in Messy Church, an interactive training led by Messy Church USA certified trainer Crystal Goetz. The training will take place on November 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Marcellus UMC. You’ll learn the five foundational values, explore how to adapt Messy Church to your setting, experience a mini Messy Church, and leave with practical tools to launch your own.
