Welcome Shari Mudge as UNY Part-Time Weekend/Evening Welcoming Specialist

The UNY Conference United Methodist Center prioritizes hospitality to all visitors who use the facility. Our Full-Time Welcoming and Support Specialist, Chris Lupini, provides top-notch hospitality to all visitors; however, his hours are weekdays and we welcome UNY Conference members to use the facility during weekends and evenings as well.

We are pleased to announce that we have hired Shari Mudge to fill the Part Time Weekend/Evening Welcome Specialist position at the United Methodist Center in Liverpool. A life-long Methodist, spouse to the Rev. Bill Mudge, and former Site Manager at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center, Shari brings a wealth of hospitality experience with her to this position.

Shari has been in ministry with Bill Mudge for 35 years. She said, “As a pastor’s spouse, hospitality has been a huge part of our ministry.”

She added, “Hospitality comes naturally to me.”

Shari emphasized that she loves being around people and meeting new people. She looks forward to Annual Conference every year because it’s a great time to connect with people all throughout the Conference. She’s excited that her new position will enable her to interact with people throughout the Conference more often.

The Rev. Bill Gottschalk Fielding, UNY Director of Connectional Ministries and Assistant to the Bishop, said, “We wanted every person who comes to the Conference Center to experience gracious hospitality.  I can’t think of a better person to make this happen than Shari Mudge.  She has hospitality in her DNA.”

Shari had her training with Chris Lupini on Saturday Nov. 2 and complimented his helpfulness; “Chris was great at showing me around and explaining everything that goes along with this position. He said I can contact him at any time I have questions.”

All trained and ready to go, you can look forward to connecting with Shari the next evening or weekend meeting you have at the United Methodist Center.
