On the Mission podcast: Better Together for Lent

    February 21, 2023 / By UNY Communications

Upper New York has launched its podcast, called On the Mission. We will frequently offer series with different themes. Our first theme is “Better Together,” which will carry you through the Lenten season.

We live in a time when the difference between us is often highlighted more than anything else. To say we live in a world that feels divided is no shock to most. Yet, we are called by God to live in unity.

Unity is a word that can be often used without gaining clarity as to its meaning. Merriam-Webster offers some thoughts including, the quality or state of not being multiple, or a condition of harmony. Also offered is the quality or state of being made one. These are helpful to get started; however, the follower of Jesus is invited deeper.

In this series, we will be exploring the call to, and practice of, Christian unity. For each episode, a leader will share some perspective around unity through the following topics:

    Episode 1: Call to unity

Episode 2: Unity with our neighbors

Episode 3: Unity in the church

Episode 4: The mission and unity

Episode 5: The strength of unity

Episode 6: Unity and new life

Each new episode will be built around Scripture, reflection, and an invitation to a prayer focus.
