Ms. Cadie Hockenbary has been hired as the Northern Flow District Administrative Assistant. She comes to the UNY Conference as a member of the Gouverneur First UMC

She found out about the position from her pastor, Elizabeth Quick, and felt the position would be a great way to get involved in her local community and serve the Church.

Cadie said, “I’ve discovered through the last three years that becoming more involved in my faith and church were priorities for me.  Being in this position really allows me to stay connected to my faith and be a part of the bigger picture.  I’ve been looking for new ways to become involved in ministry and I felt this position would allow me to contribute.”

After her first day on the job, Cadie said, “My thoughts on accepting this new position is that I get to be a part of something bigger than myself.  I definitely feel humbled to be accepted into this organization and all it does for our community.  It was a little scary at first when I understood how many churches the Northern Flow District is responsible for, but I’m ready to meet everyone and be of service!”

With more than 100,000 members, United Methodists of Upper New York comprises of more than 675 local churches and New Faith Communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our vision is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
