The Council of Finance and Administration (CF&A) presented their report during the Oct. 7 afternoon plenary at the 2022 Upper New York (UNY) Annual Conference, held virtually.

CF&A chair, Holly Roush, discussed how a PPP loan and reduced spending enabled the Conference to fulfil the 2021 Ministry Share budget.

She also mentioned how in 2021, 633 churches paid their Ministry Shares in full.

In May of 2021, churches were able to receive a credit for a half of their Ministry payment if they paid their April Ministry Share payment in full—628 churches took advantage of this credit.

She added., “For 2021, we were able to pay our apportionments to General Council on Finance and Administration at 100 percent for the sixth year in a row.”

When discussing the proposed budget for 2023 (page 9 of the 2022 Annual Conference Journal Vol. 1), Pam explained how they were more transparent, showing the differences in budgets between the years 2020 through 2023 and how some costs were offset.

She said, “You will see that even with reduced budgets for many ministries, our 2023 Conference Ministry Share budget is $275,000 higher than this year’s. This is because of adjust salaries that have remained flat for many years.”

The budget was supported by 95.3 percent of the Conference body.

The entire CF& A report, supported by 98.9 % of the body.
