    Blizzard Response

In December 2022, several communities in the Upper New York area were devastated by what many are calling the "Blizzard of the Century." Several dozen people died as a result and the aftermath of all the damage is just coming to light, especially in the Niagara Frontier District as well as in the Northern Flow District. These photographs show some of the damage at Community Church Jehovah Jireh in Buffalo.

Upper New York Area Resident Bishop, Héctor A. Burgos Núñez, said, "I grieve the loss of life even as I give thanks for the many stories of heroism emerging from these difficult days."

"People have shown up for each other in remarkable ways in the critical stages of the storm. As the recovery phase from the blizzard begins, we know of immediate needs calling us into action," said Bishop Héctor.

Besides structual damage, there are other community needs, including replenishing food pantries, assisting low-income families with funeral expenses, and other emergency needs. If you need assistance of any kind, including disaster relief kits, work teams, grant funding, or something else, please click here and fill out this form.
