Conference Communications Ministry Area undergoing transition

After more than a year of working for the Upper New York Conference, Kathleen Rubino will be leaving her position as Conference Writer/Editor. She will be joining her fiancé in moving to Orlando, Fla., where he was recently hired for a new position.
“Kathleen has been a great asset to our team and has helped us to get even better at sharing our story with each other and the world,” said Stephen J. Hustedt, Conference Director of Communications. “She will be missed, but we share in her excitement for the next step in her personal and professional life.”
As a result of her departure, the Upper New York Conference of The United Methodist Church is accepting applications for the position of writer/editor for the Communications Ministry Area. This continues to be a part-time position, at approximately 20 hours per week.
The writer/editor is responsible for producing content for electronic and print communication pieces and editing material as needed. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in communications (preferably for a non-profit organization) and strong writing skills. A bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field is preferred. Wages range from $15-$20 per hour depending on experience.
