The 2015 Director’s Invitational is now accepting nominations of young leaders. This five-day program beginning Aug. 9 is a spiritual leadership seminar that helps young people recognize their style of leadership and develop their own unique, God-given gifts.
Young people will explore many different ways they can use their talents in service. This Casowasco Center for Excellence in Leadership program is open to young people, age 14 through 2015 high school graduates.
In a letter to Conference clergy, Michael Huber, director of Conference Camp & Retreat Ministries and executive director of Casowasco, said this is a great opportunity for young people who are currently serving in a variety of leadership roles as well as those not serving in leadership but displaying unrealized leadership abilities.
"Many of our young people around the Conference are leading Sunday school, youth events, local and global mission projects, serving on church committees, and leading school and community activities,” Huber said. “They have demonstrated leadership potential, but often lack confidence, training, direction, or opportunity to develop their gifts. We recognize the opportunity the Church has to guide them ... offering them the skills that will enrich their faith, build their confidence, and teach them how to use their potential."
This event will be held at Casowasco Camp & Retreat Center in Moravia.
