    Cortland First United Methodist Church Faith in Action blessing bags

    On Saturday Sept. 21, Cortland First United Methodist Church’s Faith in Action team gathered together to assemble blessing bags to help the homeless population in Cortland and Ithaca. Each bag contained a bar of soap, a washcloth, shampoo, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb, electrolyte drink packets, gum, Chapstick, socks, two snacks, and a bottle of water.     Upper New York Red Bird Mission Shoebox Campaign seeking drop-off locations

    Dave Alexander and the mission team at Endwell United Methodist Church are again coordinating the collection and delivery of shoeboxes for the Red Bird Mission. Red Bird Mission is a poverty-relief organization that serves a remote, impoverished population in Bell, Clay, and Leslie counties in southeastern Kentucky.     UNY UMM hosting a Work Day at the UNY Mission Central HUB

    Cornerstone DS installation service for the Rev. Suzanne Block

    Young couple brings new life to former Cameron Mills UMC

    The Cameron Mill United Methodist Church closed in December 2012. It stood in disrepair – infested with bees and flooding in the basement – until a young couple stepped in.    Dalton and Autumn Cady, then 20 and 22 respectively, initially bought the house next the church in September 2016.     Potato drop coming to UNY

    On Saturday Nov. 16, 50-pound bags of potatoes will be available to pick up at no cost for local food pantries, individuals, families, and community organizations that feed the hungry.     It started with a race

    When runner Ashley Fuller learned that a popular local road race, the Michael J. Cerroni Memorial 5K, in Black River, NY was ceasing after 2017 because the initial fundraising goal was achieved, she had to do something about it. The race was named after Michael Ceronni who passed away in a snow-mobile race in 2006. Michael was a father of two and a marine who served three tours in Iraq. He loved …more

    Hurricane Dorian has devastated the Bahamas, especially the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama. The storm basically came to a standstill as it pummeled the islands, causing major flooding, extreme destruction, and even death.
