Every 60 seconds, a child in Africa dies of malaria.
But Malaria is 100% preventable and treatable – this is a fight we can win.
Nearly 600,000 lives are lost every year to Malaria, according to a World Health Organization report.
Can you imagine… if all the people in Syracuse, Rochester and Albany died, each year?
The United Methodist Church is part of the solution. The United Methodist Church is saving lives and changing the world, helping children reach their potential and become who God created them to be, including giving them the chance to be a part of global leadership at Africa University.
Churches all over the conference are thinking creatively, as we march toward our goal of saving 100,000 lives. All it takes is $10 at a time; that’s enough for one round of malaria medication or one bed net.

The Imagine No Malaria site has free resources to get you started (envelopes, fly swatters, brochures), but it’s you who brings the creativity and imagination! Will you carry out your own Mosquito Net Fashion Show (like the one that we celebrated at Annual Conference)? Or is a can drive or pancake breakfast more in tune with your congregation's gifts? Or do you have a youth group that wants to sleep out under bed nets? The opportunities for mission, evangelism and outreach in the community are endless.
