Upper New York Annual Conference Scholarships
The Upper New York Annual Conference College Scholarships Committee offers the following two scholarship categories:
Conference Merit Award: The annual Student Day special offering supports General Conference Loans and Scholarships. Of the total funds collected from churches in our conference, the General Conference returns 10% for this scholarship. Awards are to United Methodist students who are enrolled in an institution of higher education recognized as United Methodist by the University Senate (see list at http://tiny.cc/umcollegesuniversities). Merit is evaluated in terms of academic scholarship, church involvement, financial need, vocational preparation for ministry, or other service. Your church must have participated in the Student Day offering.
All application materials for these scholarships are due April 1, 2013.
You will need the following forms to complete your application: (Note, you will need to save these forms, then open them with Adobe Reader. Once completed save and then attach the form as well as any additional documents to your email for submission.)

*Suggestion: If you choose to complete forms while online, print a copy first so that you can gather information, and write essays (in PDF or RTF is suggested) to attach to the email you send to the Conference Office. You will also need to give copies of the Membership Certification to your Pastor, and the Recommendation Form to your other recommender. Forms and questions may be emailed to scholarships@unyumc.org.
