Here I am Lord … I will hold your people in my heart.
How is God calling you to serve? Maybe you're being called to ordained ministry. If so, visit Is God Calling You? and talk to your pastor or district superintendent.
Not all of us are called to ordained ministry, but by our baptism, all of us are called to ministry. Are you being called to serve in the local church? On a conference board? Are you being called to be a Lay Speaker? a Local Pastor? There are many opportunities to serve in Troy Conference at the conference level.
Finding your place in Troy Conference
There are two ways you can serve at the conference level. You can:
Below is a listing of the Councils, Ministry Teams, and Servants of the Connection in Troy Conference. This is by no means a complete listing of conference organizations.
If you would like to put your gifts to work in the conference, or help build up our local congregations, but do not see an area for which you feel called to serve, contact Holly Nye, Conference Minister, at (518) 584-8214, ext. 18.
Now there are varieties of service, but the same Lord … I Cor. 1:2-5
Where can I serve?
There are a number of different places you can serve.
You can serve on a council to guide, vision and administer the work of the conference.
You can serve on a mininstry team to help the conference equip local churches in their ministry to make disciples for Jesus Christ.
You can serve as a Servant of the Connection and become a link between the global United Methodist Church and the local United Methodist Church.
You can take part in short-term mission projects, such as Volunteers-in-Mission, or volunteer for a week or two to work at a conference camp.
The conference offers countless opportunities to share their passion, their ideas, their gifts and their graces with people beyond the local church.
