United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men (UMM)  is a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek Christ's daily will. The primary purpose of UMM is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in their relationships.

Rick Zutterling received a John Wesley Fellowship on Oct.26 at Saratoga UMC. His fellowship was presented by Denny Mikkelson and Will Chamberlin.

The Troy UMM Nominating Committee is looking for suggestions for officers such as district president or program coordinator for the coming year. If you would like to serve in any capacity please contact the Conference office or the Conference UMM Nominating Committee. 

Friends Of UMM

The Troy Conference Friends of UMM program has been very successful in providing mission funding from the UMM to various projects within the Conference. For more information about Friends of UMM, contact Denny Mikkelson  or Rick Zutterling.

Joe Almeida initiated this ministry in 1996 and to date it has raised over $17,000 for various ministries and missions within our conference. For more information, contact Denny Mikkelson at (518) 248-0468.

 

 


UMM Support for Camperships

We can really make a difference in a kid’s life!

Every year the Troy Conference UMM supports as many youth as possible with funds to help pay for church camp experiences, regardless of their financial situation. These funds come in large part from our Camp Jugs, which are placed in a prominent location at every conference UMM event. Start one for your fellowship and have it out at meetings.

So, look for our Camp Jug or send your check made out to Troy Conference UMM and marked “Camperships” to Joe Almeida, 3 Northway Court, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

In 2008, Troy UMM raised $300 in camperships!

What are the men of Troy Conference doing?

Our conference UMM conducts two events each year. A Spiritual Retreat, held in early March at Skye Farm Ogden Lodge, and the Work Weekend, held in early May also at Skye Farm. Other special events may be planned if there is enough interest. If you have an idea for an event you want to coordinate, please let us know.
 
Many men’s groups are meeting in our local churches and doing great things. Men do better and can accomplish more when we work together in groups to pool both our talents and our spiritual support.

What is EMS/Legacy Builders and why should I join?

Evangelism, Mission and Spiritual Life is EMS, which is an annual UMM membership in the National UMM organization that supports the ministry and work of United Methodist Men worldwide.

EMS has combined with Legacy Builders to allow men to further support mens ministry through the UMM Foundation. Legacy Builders  are persons who make monthly investments of $10 or more.
