Time is running out for you to register for the New Faith Community Development Gathering set for the first weekend in March.

The 24-hour intensive event at the Casowasco Camp & Retreat Center will offer new perspectives on how new faith communities can be planted in the neighborhoods and communities of the Upper New York Area.

The retreat will be held March 2-3 at the center in Moravia, with the aim of connecting people who share a passion for evangelism, church growth, and missional leadership.

Using "training, understanding and imagining possibilities for a healthy future," the schedule has three main sessions with additional focused breakout sessions planned.

The session leaders come from three diverse areas, and all are focused on how United Methodists can move forward in new faith community development. They include:

Tom Sampley, missionary and church planter, will work with us on missional communities. Sampley comes from the Ginghamsburg UMC.

Jessica Stollings, founder of Re:Generations and a former nationally-syndicated news correspondent, will offer practical training to “educate, equip and engage us about the rising generation of Christian leaders.”

Revs. Allen Merrill & Sara Ewing-Merrill will talk about church planting in the Northeast and things they have learned while planting and pastoring Hope.Gate.Way in Portland, Maine.

The cost is $95. For more information, e-mail DCMoffice@unyumc.org; you can register online for the event here.
