UNY receives UMAC awards for media

Each year, the United Methodist Association of Communicators recognizes excellence in communication through an extensive awards program. This year, the Upper New York Conference received two awards for its submissions.

The video highlights the congregation’s call to connect to the area’s children – through a Sunday breakfast and dinner, an after-school program, and a seven-week summer program – and to its area residents by helping them improve their educational opportunities, their job capabilities, and their health capabilities.
In Class V – Video Production, Conference Videographer Mary Dalglish received a third place award for her submission of apromotional materials for the Conference’s Africa 360 initiative. Africa 360 is the Conference’s holistic plan for health and education initiatives in Africa. The promotional materials include a pledge card and envelope, a brochure, a large table-top display, bookmarks, a Lenten Devotional, district newsletters, a dedicated Advocate issue, and impact statement sheets.
In Class IX – Publicity and Advertising, Conference Graphic Designer Christian Vischi received third place for the design ofUMAC is a professional association for those working and volunteering in United Methodist communications around the world. The 2016 awards were presented in 10 best-in-class categories.
