Installation Services for Upper New York’s two newest district superintendents will be held in October. An installation service is a time for members of a district to celebrate the new appointment of one who has been called to a special ministry of supervision and leadership.

Members of the Crossroads District will celebrate the appointment of the Rev. Nola Anderson on Oct. 11 at the Cicero United Methodist Church. The event begins with an open reception 4-4:30 p.m. The installation service will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. A dinner – by invitation only, due to limited seating – will follow.

The Mohawk District will welcome as its superintendent the Rev. Abel Roy at a service from 4-7 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the New Hartford UMC, 105 Genesee St. After the service, you're invited to stay for a time of food and fellowship. The dinner theme is the "Flavor of the Mohawk District," with dishes provided by area restaurants and Mohawk District churches reflecting the diversity of the area. If you are planning to attend the "Flavor" event, either as an individual or as a church group, make your reservation by Oct. 19 with Mohawk District Administrative Assistant Cindy Muder at mohawkdistrict@unyumc.org or (315) 797-1777.

Reservations are not needed for the installation services, and the public is invited to attend.
