    Director’s Invitational accepting nominations

Nominations of young leaders are now being accepted for the 2016 Director’s Invitational at the Casowasco Camp & Retreat Center in Moravia. Director’s Invitational is a spiritual leadership seminar developed to help youth recognize their style of leadership and develop their own unique, God-given gifts. The five-day program begins Aug. 7.

Youth will explore many different ways they can use their talents in service. This Casowasco Center for Excellence in Leadership program is open to youth, ages 14 through 2016 high school graduates.

In a letter to Conference clergy, Michael Huber, Conference Director of Camp & Retreat Ministries, said this is a great opportunity for youth who are currently serving in a variety of leadership roles as well as those not serving in leadership but displaying unrealized leadership abilities.

“Many of our youth across the Conference are leading Sunday School, youth events, local and global mission projects, serving on church committees, and leading school and community activities. They have demonstrated leadership potential, but often lack confidence, training, direction, or opportunity to develop their gifts,” Huber wrote in the letter.

“We recognize the opportunity the Church has to guide them ... offering them the skills that will enrich their faith, build their confidence, and teach them how to use their potential.”
