On Sept. 9, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) informed HealthFlex that unauthorized users accessed the Excellus BCBS systems. Click here for more information about the information breech. Excellus is a member of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association that operates in upstate New York. At that time, we did not have any additional information regarding impact to HealthFlex participants. We have now been given the list of impacted participants, which includes most participants enrolled in HealthFlex through the Upper New York Conference.

Excellus Blue Cross will be providing two years of free identity theft protection services to those who are impacted. Members can click here or call (877) 589-3331 toll-free for additional information.

A letter will be mailed to all impacted persons in the near future, which will also provide information on accessing the free identity theft protection services.
