Africa 360 Lenten Devotional now available

January 26, 2016 / By UNY Communications / .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Inspired by the example set in 2012 by the North Texas Annual Conference and its Lenten Study Guide, “Seeds of Hope,” the Upper New York Conference decided to create its own Lenten Devotional for Africa 360 – the UNY Conference’s holistic plan for health and education initiatives in Africa that benefits Imagine No Malaria and Africa University.

Clergy and laity from across the Upper New York Conference have shared their stories about Imagine No Malaria and Africa University. These stories have been compiled and published in the new Africa 360 Lenten Devotional, with the hope of inspiring individuals, small groups, and congregations to give and live generously and be conscious of why our God-given connections with one another are so important.

The devotional is divided into seven sections – one for each week of Lent – with each connected to the theme of “Our Connection and Our Response.” Each writer has made a commitment to challenge themselves to share in the Lenten journey through the experience of sacrifice on behalf of others. Each day, you will encounter a different type of challenge, from helping to tell the story of Africa 360 to creative ways to donate. Also included for each Sunday of Lent is a study guide with questions for reflection.

You can download the devotional as a free PDF from the Africa 360 toolkit. You can also purchase a hard copy from online publisher Lulu.com; all proceeds benefit Africa 360. Click here to visit Lulu to purchase a copy for $15 (plus tax shipping & handling).
