Hands4NY Youth Summit

The Albany District is hosting a HANDS4NY Youth Summit for youth 14 and older, who will learn about hunger by working directly with the hungry.

The event includes mission work as well as information offered by various presenters.

The young people who participate in this event will be helping prepare food packages for distribution from local and regional food banks. They will also be helping at the Sunday morning free community breakfast at the host church, First United Methodist Church in Schenectady, which is housing the summit.

The summit begins on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 23, and continues through noon Sunday, Feb. 26 at First UMC, 603 State St., Schenectady, N.Y. 12305; showers are available.

Leaders of the event will be the Rev. Phil Grigsby, of Schenectady Inner City Ministry, and Jay Godfrey, of General Board of Global Ministries.

The cost is $25; $20 for commuters.

Registration deadline is Feb. 13.
