 Bus Service to Adjourned Session of Annual Conference

Many District Offices are organizing transportation service to the historic Adjourned Session of Annual Conference on September 11 at Empire Plaza in Albany. Below is the availability of transportation to the Adjourned Session of Annual Conference by area/districts.

Binghamton District - Make your bus reservations early for the September 11, 2010, Uniting Conference Session in Albany. Price per person will be $25. We need to let the bus line know how many buses will be needed by July 26th. Please get your bus reservations in early. If you would like to ride the bus, you can call RoseMarie Schlock at the Endicott Conference Office – 757-0608 or email - rmschlock@wyomingconference.org.

Cornerstone District -
There are still 22 seats available. Reservations for the bus to Albany have been coming in.  If you plan on riding the bus make sure you get your reservation in before the bus is full. To reserve your seat please send a check made payable to the Cornerstone District Office at 15 Morris Lane Jamestown, NY 14701 and please include the name(s) you are reserving for. NOTE– If anyone from the new churches is interested in riding the bu we can add another stop in the Olean area.

Crossroads District - There is a Leave and Return Same Day Bus Trip to the Celebration of the New Annual Conference. The bus will leave on September 11, 2010 from Fulton First UMC at 6 am Sharp. It will then go to Andrews Memorial UMC at 106 Church St in North Syracuse at 6:30 a.m. We will then return at approx. 9:00 pm. The cost of the bus is $30 and is on a first come, first serve basis. Seating is limited. Please make out your checks to Palermo UMC and send to Palermo UMC at 11 County Route 35, Fulton, NY 13069

Genesee Valley, Mountain View, Finger Lakes - All buses must be filled close to capacity or they will not run. The exact number of buses and routings will be determined when all paid reservations are in.

 At this time, one or two buses will run from Olean and make stops along Rt. 86 to Rt. 88 up to Albany. Another will run up Rt. 390 to Rochester, and then along the Thruway to Albany. Still another will start in Ithaca, go through Cortland and Syracuse to the Thruway, then on to Albany. It is planned that no one will have to drive more than an hour to get to a pickup point. Arrangements are made to stay overnight in Albany on September 10, including dinner and breakfast. A fast food stop at the rider’s expense will be made on the trip home.

The first vital information required is a confirmed listing from each church as to who will use this service. What should be listed is church name, District, names of persons, and preferred roommate, if any. Send this information by e-mail to Wally Davis in the Saratoga Springs Conference Office with copy to Pastor Mark Flandreau by July 31. To reach Wally: WallyDavis@unyumc.org.   To reach Mark: pastorflandreau@gmail.com.

The cost, to be paid no later than August 9, is $175, double occupancy. There may be an adjustment after the trip to make the trip cost neutral to the Conference, or to return funds to riders. Roommates must be requested along with the money, or they will be appropriately assigned. Make checks payable to Upper New York Conference. Please mail checks and a note listing District name, church name, riders’ name(s), phone number(s), e-mail address(es), and roommate designation to:   Mr. Wally Davis, Upper New York Conference, 396 Louden Rd., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. 

Mohawk District - There will be a bus leaving from Trinity UMC, 8595 Westmoreland Road, Whitesboro, Saturday, Sept. 11, to travel to Adjourned Session in Albany. Departure time: TBA (estimated about 6 a.m.).  The cost of a round-trip ride on this mini-coach is $60.  Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.  Money is due no later than Aug. 23 to: Mohawk District, 105 Genesee Street, New Hartford, NY 13413. Niagara Frontier - Seven seats remain open on the bus heading out of the Niagara Frontier District on September 10, 2011 picking up at Amherst’s Trinity UMC (711 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst, 14226) at 5:00 PM and Batavia’s First UMC (8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia, 14020) at 5:30 PM at the low cost of $42!  Hotel rooms are $99, and we will drop you right at the hotel door!  The bus will depart Albany following sessions on September 11, 2010.  To reserve a seat on the bus and learn more about the hotel, contact Deborah Barnes at (716) 564-2316.
