The Church Family at the Old DeKalb United Methodist Church have been truly blessed to have one of their church family members Betty Evans, now 99 years young, who has supported the church singing for more than 25 years by playing the organ that she and her deceased husband Mert Evans donated many years ago.

Betty attended school in Watertown. She said she could read music before reading English and attended the Universalist Church in Watertown. Betty eventually volunteered to play piano for various churches and a synagogue in the Watertown area. She attended the Crane School of Music in Potsdam where she advanced her love for playing the piano.

The church family says thank you and loves you for sharing your love for music for all these years and for being an over-all active family member.
