    Pre-Retirement Seminar

Click here to register for the pre-retirement seminar on October 7, 2019.

All clergy looking to retire in the next year are encouraged to attend a pre-retirement seminar. This seminar highlights and explains the benefis available through The United Methodist Church, including the current pension plan, health insurance options, Social Security, and any moving assistance that's available. A pre-retirement seminar is held once each year in the fall. A retirement seminar is held each spring.

Online registration is required in order to attend as lunch is provided. Click here to register for the 2019 pre-retirement seminar. Spouses are also welcome to attend.

The seminar will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 from 10-3 p.m. at the United Methodist Center in Liverpool. Click here for directions.

Ronald Theodore, a Benefits Educator from Wespath Pension & Health Benefits, will be presenting on the denominational plans. Julie Valeski, UNY Benefits Administrator, will be presenting on health insurance options and moving policies, and there is a tentative commitment from the Social Security Administration to send an educator as well.

A limited number of personal consultations with Mr. Theodore will be available on a first-registered first-served basis. Personal pension projections will be discussed but these consultations are limited to 15-20 minutes and are, therefore, general in nature. You may indicate your desire for a consultation on the online registration form.

The pre-retirement seminar is sponsored by the Conference Board of Pension & Health Benefits, through the generosity of our local churches’ ministry share giving.

With more than 168,000 members, the Upper New York Annual (Regional) Conference of The United Methodist Church comprises 865 local churches and 91 new faith communities in 12 districts, covering 48,000 square miles in 49 of the 62 counties in New York state. Our mission is to “live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be God’s love with our neighbors in all places."
